YTsaurus 24.2.0 released

Updates, fixes, and improvements

We are pleased to present the new version of YTsaurus 24.2.0, which includes a number of improvements, bug fixes, and some new features.

To install YTsaurus Server 24.2.0 update the k8s‑operator to version 0.22.0.

Key updates include:

Kafka Proxy

We’ve introduced a new component called Kafka Proxy. This is an MVP version that allows interaction with YTsaurus queues using the Apache Kafka SDK. Currently, it supports a minimal API for writing to queues and load-balanced reading through consumer groups. Further development is planned.

YAML Format Support

Version 24.2.0 of YTsaurus introduces support for the YAML format for representing structured data. You can now use YAML when working with Cypress and for configuring settings, making them more readable and easier to edit. Unlike JSON, YAML allows for comments and a more compact syntax, simplifying work with large configuration files. More details can be found in the RFC.

We have also optimized the operation of the Master Server and dynamic tables. More information on these and other changes can be found in the release notes.
